My Myth Retold

I was created as a punishment to mankind. Zeus wanted to punish people because Prometheus stole the fire to give to them. I was given gifts from all the gods during my creation. I was given a box from Zeus but I was not supposed to accept any gifts from him. Then Hermes took me to Epimetheus, brother of Prometheus, to be his wife. Prometheus had also told Epimetheus not to accept anything from the Zeus, but he accepted me right away. I opened the box and all the illnesses and hardships that gods had hidden in the box started coming out. I was frightened  and tried to close the box as fast as possible, closing Hope inside.

Resolution

After I opened the box, only hope was left in it. I practically destroyed the earth and everyone on it was either killed or forced into evil ways. It was because of this that Zeus sent a huge flood to wipe out the humans. My daughter and one man were left to repopulate the world and start over, which they achieved very successfully.

Climax

The climax, when I opened my box. I opened the box and all the evils in the world fell out, but hope remained in the box. 

Conflict

The conflict of my creation was probably many different things. I was created because of a conflict, because of Prometheus stealing from the gods to give to man. I was also not supposed to accept any gifts from Zeus, but I did that anyway. I received a box and opened it, which almost wiped out mankind completely.

Character development

Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to mankind. I was created in hopes that I could get revenge on humans for accepting the fire. Prometheus played a major role in my creation. This is a picture of him trying to steal the fire. After he gave the fire to humans, the gods found out and decided to lock him away. Zeus punished him by having him chained to a rock, where an eagle ate him liver during the day which led to Prometheus regrowing the liver throughout the night due to his immortality. He was later saved by Hercules.

Epimetheus, Prometheus' brother, was given me as a bride after her creation. Prometheus had warned his brother not to accept gifts from Zeus, but he accepted me as a wife anyway. I was also warned by Prometheus to not accept Zeus' gifts but we see how well I listened to that.
